I saw this bit of news about the road to Inhambane:

Possible Upgrade of Road from SA to Inhambane
Maputo - The Mozambican government is considering inviting South African authorities to construct a road link in Inhambane province, state media reported on Wednesday.

Itai Meque, Inhambane provincial governor, told the daily Noticias that his government was considering formally inviting South African authorities to construct the Mapinhane Pafuri road link, which was in a bad state.

Apart form boosting the tourism revenue, the construction of the road would also reduce the time taken by South African tourists visiting Inhambane as they would bypass Maputo city.

Who knows anything about this route?
What is it like at the moment?
If they fix this road, will it really be quicker?

Being the webmaster for Pomene.com does not make me an expert on Pomene. Yes I do have access to lots of the inside information on Pomene but I live in South Africa and I rely on information passed on to me by others.

I am a professional photographer and I spend a lot of time photographing Mozambique lodges and resorts.
