You have to hang your phone on the wall to get a signal. If you are in Sunset place you can do he same if you hang your phone on the lagoon side mozzi screen. The best solution to all around comms would be to have a GPRS card or GPRS phone with an external aerial of about 5 to 7db gain. Then you are guaranteed comms. However the Cell Mast has been fitted at the Old lighthouse near the point and should be operational soon so the problem goes away as there will be good coverage for the whole area and even out to sea. From what I understand the only drawaback is how they are going to provide power to the Cell site. Then im guessing that MMS and GPRS will be fully active as well as normal cell and SMS functions. By the bye. MTN Mozambique does not do Prepay SIM cards with GPRS but the Vodacom Mozambique cards do. So if you are buying local SIMs get the Vodaphone one if you want Internet access. Otherwise the normal Vodacom card from SA with roaming works fine but I did not have GPRS access. It could have been just low signal.. Chris Pakenham 13th May 2010 | ||
