For international travel to Pomene, which airport would I need to travel to in
Mozambique. Are there any choices, or just one international airport. Also
would the internal flight to Pomene be organised by the hotel if you are staying
there, or must it be done by the traveller.

Hi Moira. Mozambique has a few international airports, the largest being Maputo in the south of Mozambique. But due to the travelers demand in Mozambique, not many airlines fly directly to Mozambique. The most popular route most travelers take is to fly into South Africa's Johannesburg airport and then take a direct flight to Inhambane in Mozambique. Barra Resorts run 3 lodges in this area, Barra Lodge, Flamingo Bay and Pomene Lodge. If you are booked into any one of these 3 lodges, they will arrange all your transferes between the airport and the lodge, including the charter flight into Pomene.

Being the webmaster for Pomene.com does not make me an expert on Pomene. Yes I do have access to lots of the inside information on Pomene but I live in South Africa and I rely on information passed on to me by others.

I am a professional photographer and I spend a lot of time photographing Mozambique lodges and resorts.
